Is my data used to train an AI model?

This is the most frequent question asked before signing up, and rightly so: a company memory holds exactly what a company does not want circulating.

The short answer

No. Your data is not used to train any model, and that holds for the AI providers Verbasil calls to read your text.

What actually happens when a text is processed

Verbasil relies on models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google to read a document and extract what looks like a decision or a learning. Concretely:

  • the text is sent to the model for the duration of the analysis, and an extraction comes back;
  • training on the transmitted data is excluded by the contracts governing those calls;
  • Verbasil does not depend on a single provider, which means it can move if a provider's terms stopped being acceptable.

Where the data lives

In Europe. It is isolated from one organization to the next, encrypted in transit and encrypted at rest by our hosting providers.

The Security page details the full arrangement, including what is not yet in place. It is deliberately written without smoothing anything over: a security page that only states the positives cannot be verified.

Didn't work?

  • You need to answer a legal team or a customer. The Security page is built to be forwarded as is: it names the providers, the hosting regions and the limits.
  • You work in a regulated field and need written commitments. Write to us. These are questions we answer by name, not with a generic page.

FAQ

Does an AI provider keep my text?

Training on transmitted data is excluded by the contracts governing those calls. Short-lived technical retention for abuse detection may exist at some providers: that is an industry practice, distinct from training, and it is described on the Security page.

Do my colleagues see everything I import?

No. A memory has members, and what each person sees depends on their access. There is also a personal space that enters no team view.

Can I retrieve or delete my data?

Yes, in both cases. Export returns the contents of your memory in a reusable format, and account deletion is available from the settings.
