Plans and experiments

Chain decisions into a plan, and test a hypothesis before you decide.

A plan chains decisions toward a goal: a launch, a redesign, a hire. An experiment tests a hypothesis before you decide. Both live next to decisions, and their results become evidence.

Plans

Plans open from the Decisions screen, with the Plans chip.

Create a plan

  1. In Decisions, click Plans, then New plan.
  2. Paste a plan you already wrote, or just give a title.
  3. Click Create plan.
  4. Organize it with Add a phase, and Attach the decisions that make it up.

Follow its progress

Progress is computed on its own: a decision counts as soon as it is settled. You see how many are settled and how many wait for you. Nothing is ticked by hand.

When the plan is finished, Close the plan. Reopen the plan puts it back in progress.

Your connected AI tools can also propose a plan; it then waits for your review, like everything they propose.

Experiments

Start an experiment

The simplest way is to start from a decision you are unsure about: in To do, choose Turn into a test; in the decision, Turn into an experiment.

To start one from scratch:

  1. Open the experiments page (⌘K, then "Experiments").
  2. Click Start an experiment and frame the hypothesis.
  3. Click Start the experiment.

Record the outcome

  1. On the experiment, click Record outcome.
  2. Note what happened and what you take from it.
  3. Click Confirm & Complete.

The result and the lesson enter the memory, and feed the decisions that follow.
