Get started

Create your memory

Sign in, describe your work in two steps, then create more memories when you need them.

Creating your memory takes two minutes: a password-free sign-in, then two screens. Everything you enter can be changed later.

Verbasil has no password. You get a link and a code by email.

  1. On the sign-in page, enter your address in Email, then click Send me a link.
  2. Open the email. It is valid for one hour.
  3. On desktop, click the link. On mobile or in the installed app, type the code into Login code instead, then click Sign me in.

Access is still invite-only. If your address isn't authorized yet, the screen says so, and you get an email the moment your access opens.

Tell Verbasil who you are

The first screen is titled "Tell us who you are".

  1. Fill in First name and Your role. Last name is optional.
  2. Click Continue.

Your first name and role are used to tailor answers. You can change them in Settings.

Create the first memory

The second screen is titled "Create your first memory".

  1. Fill in Organization name: the organization owns your memories.
  2. Memory name copies the organization's name. Click edit to choose another one.
  3. Answer What do you do, and who for? in a few sentences, in your own words (800 characters at most).
  4. Pick the Memory language: the language Verbasil writes in. You can drop in content in any language.
  5. Click Create the memory.

You land on your memory's home screen, ready to drop something in. See First import.

Why the description matters

Your answer to "What do you do, and who for?" is the context Verbasil rereads before every suggestion. A precise description (trade, size, clients) gives better suggestions. "Architecture practice, eight people, housing for social landlords" beats "Architecture".

Create another memory

One memory per client or topic keeps each one's decisions in their place.

  1. At the top of the left sidebar, open the memory switcher.
  2. Choose Create a memory.
  3. Give it a name and a context, then continue.
  4. Choose who can access it: the whole team, or only the people you add. In the second case, you can also hide that it exists.
  5. Create the memory.

Only admins can create additional memories, and it is part of the Team plan: without it, the entry shows a lock.

Open, restricted and personal memories

TypeWho reads it
Openthe whole organization
Restrictedonly the people added to it, whatever their role
Personalyou alone; it shows as "Personal (only you)" when you drop something in

An open memory can become restricted, and back, from the memory's Settings, under Access.
